Citizens Bank Park
The Phillies had their three-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday with a 5-3 loss to the Mariners in the series opener at Citizens Bank Park.

Tonight the Phils turn to righty Taijuan Walker to get back on track. He was solid in his last outing in Chicago, surrendering just two runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings. Tonight will be his first career start against Seattle.

The Mariners will turn to righty Logan Gilbert, who originally was scheduled to start Tuesday's series opener before a late change. The 25-year-old is carrying a 3.57 ERA over four starts this season. He tossed six frames in his previous outing, surrendering four runs in a no-decision against Milwaukee.

Eye On History
With his eight strikeouts against the Brewers, Gilbert passed Seattle great Randy Johnson for the thrid most strikeouts through a pitchers first 60 Mariners starts with 330, trailing only Felix Hernandez (351) and Erik Hanson (349).

Injury Updates
Nick Nelson had his rehab assignment transfered on Wednesday to Double-A Reading. He's working his way back from a left hamstring strain and is expected to throw 55 pitches or three innings.

Ranger Suarez will start his rehab assignment on Thursday at Reading. Skipper Rob Thomson said he wants Suarez to make three or four starts before making his 2023 regular season debut.

“For me, I’d like to get him to 90 or 100 (pitches) so that he can come back and have a regular start,” Thomson said.
