Toohers and Scanlon
Every week during the regular season, the Philadelphia Baseball Review will honor a Division-I Player and Pitcher of the Week.

For the week ending on April 4, the Philadelphia Baseball Review recognizes Villanova grad student Ryan Toohers as Player of the Week and La Salle hurler Colin Scanlon as Pitcher of the Week.

Toohers finished 10-for-13 in a three-game sweep for the Wildcats over Saint Joseph's. He drove in seven runs and walked twice. He's hitting .358 on the season and is a major reason why Villanova is riding a 12-game winning streak.

On the mound, Scanlon tossed six solid innings for La Salle in an Explorers win over rival Penn. He surrendered two runs (one earned) while scattering four hits. He whiffed eight and didn't walk a batter. He's tossed at least six innings in each of his last three starts and is sporting a 3.15 ERA.

Founded in 2006, the Philadelphia Baseball Review covers all aspects of baseball in the Philadelphia region.
