DiValerio and Lantrenta win Player of the Week honors
Each Monday during the regular season, the Philadelphia Baseball Review will honor a Division-I Player and Pitcher of the Week. These honors are not based entirely on statistics, but rather the value delivered by a player throughout the week.

For the week ending on March 1, the Philadelphia Baseball Review recognizes Villanova freshman Lucas Latrenta as Player of the Week and Saint Joseph's senior Jordan DiValerio as Pitcher of the Week.

Latrenta finished the weekend 5-for-11 (.454) for the Wildcats. He hit a pair of homers, drove in six runs, scored four times, and walked twice. The Greenwich, CT native earned Freshman of the Week honors last week.

DiValerio - who already has earned Pitcher of the Week honors once this season - tossed six solid innings on Friday in a 5-1 Saint Joseph's win over North Carolina Central. He scattered five hits, surrendered one run, walked two, and struck out 10.

Founded in 2006, the Philadelphia Baseball Review covers all aspects of baseball in the Philadelphia region.

Previous DI Player of the Week Honorees:
February 16: David Smith (La Salle) & Jordan DiValerio (Saint Joseph's)
February 23: Tatem Levins (La Salle) & Manny Corporan (La Salle)
