Chestnut Hill
It was the kind of afternoon that belongs in a program’s time capsule.

Four individual milestones. One postseason-clinching sweep. And a doubleheader that turned Hostelley Field into a highlight reel of Chestnut Hill baseball history.

The Griffins punched their ticket to the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament with authority on Monday, sweeping Georgian Court University, 12-2 and 6-2. The wins pushed Chestnut Hill to 17-11 in conference play and 22-17 overall, while the Lions dropped to 8-34 and 7-25 in the CACC.

But the headliner? That was senior catcher Justin Geiger — and a game one for the ages.

In the span of nine innings, Geiger became the first player in Chestnut Hill history to notch 150 career hits, 100 career runs scored, and 100 career RBIs — all in the same game. He reached the 150-hit plateau in his first at-bat with a well-placed infield single in the second inning, becoming the 14th Griffin to do so. Later that same inning, he crossed the plate to join the 100-run club (just the 10th to ever do it). And by the eighth, he drove in his second run of the day — No. 100 for his career — becoming just the third player in program history to hit all three milestones.

The company? Exclusive. Only Brendan Looby (2016) and John Contoudis (2022) had previously done it.

Meanwhile, on the mound, Jake Schweiker added his own piece to the milestone montage. The senior righty struck out the side in the seventh to log his 150th career strikeout, becoming just the fourth pitcher in school history to reach the mark. He finished with eight punchouts over seven innings, allowing just three hits and two unearned runs.

The Griffins' bats backed him up all game long. Geiger, Michael Benedetto III, and Nick Shiffler all collected three hits. Shiffler drove in three runs — including a two-run homer in the seventh — while Geiger and Aiden Myers chipped in two RBIs each.

All told, it was a performance built on numbers, history, and the kind of moments that will echo into May.

The Griffins host Bloomfield for two games this week before wrapping up the regular season with a four-game set against Jefferson this weekend.
