Phillies Mariners Preview
The Phillies are in the midst of their worst slide of the 2024 season, having won just 13 of their last 30 contests and three of their last 10. The club now finds itself on the west coast on a tough road trip that includes stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, and Arizona. Their lead over the Braves in the NL East is down to just six games.

Where: T-Mobile Park, Friday through Sunday.

Pitching matchups and start times: RHP Tyler Phillips (3-0, 1.80) vs. RHP Bryan Woo (4-1. 2.35) on Friday at 9:40 p.m. LHP Kolby Allard (0-0, 6.75) vs. RHP Bryce Miller (8-7, 3.46) on Saturday at 9:40 p.m.. RHP Zack Wheeler (10-5, 2.94) vs. RHP Logan Gilbert (6-7, 3.11) on Sunday at 4:10 p.m.

Series: The two teams have not faced each other this season. Overall, the Mariners hold a 12-10 lead in the all-time series.

Mariners Update (57-43): The Mariners are even with the Astros for the top spot in the NL West and have the fourth best record at home in the American League (31-23). The club made some noteworthy moves at the trade deadline, acquiring Randy Arozarena, Justin Turner, and JT Chargois, along with bullpen arm Yimi Garcia.

Phillies Update (65-43): Things are going sideways quickly for the Phillies, and this trip could not have come at a worse time. All three stops are against viable teams that have winning records and legitimate postseason aspirations. The offense needs to right the ship to get things back on track.  The club is hitting just .229 since the All-Star break and their .297 wOBA ranks 23rd over that same time span.

Notable InjuriesMariners -- SS J.P. Crawford (hand), OF Julio Rodriguez (ankle), Dominic Canzone (groin).

Phillies -- RHP Spencer Turnbull (shoulder), RHP Taijuan Walker (finger), SP Ranger Suarez (back), and RHP Dylan Covey (shoulder) are on the injured list.

Next: The Phillies head to Los Angeles for a three-game set with the Dodgers starting on Monday.
