Connor McCloskey threw four scoreless innings and struck out nine batters, leading the Philly Mummers to a 5-1 victory over the Philly Fightin' Quakers on Thursday night at Skip Wilson Field in Ambler.

McCloskey (Pennsbury) dominated on the mound, allowing just one hit and two walks to secure the win. The Mummers took an early lead in the first inning when Sam Labrecque (Pennsbury/Oberlin) hit a lead-off triple and scored on a wild pitch.

RJ Agriss (North Penn/Elizabethtown) followed a similar pattern in the second, smashing a lead-off double to right field and scoring on a Logan Hinds single (CB South/Clarion) to extend the lead to 2-0. The Mummers added two more runs in the fourth inning and another in the sixth for insurance.

Labrecque finished the game 2-for-3, while Agriss went 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Hinds also had a strong performance, going 2-for-2 and crossing the plate twice.

Ryan Fox took the loss for the Fightin' Quakers, giving up two runs on three hits over three innings. He also recorded seven strikeouts.

The Fightin' Quakers scored their lone run on a passed ball in the sixth inning.

The Mummers (2-1) will return to action on Tuesday at Gwynedd Mercy to begin a two-game series against the Bucks County Ghosts (1-1). The Fightin' Quakers (1-2) have a bye next week before returning to action on Monday, June 17, against Rake (1-1).
