Harry Genth contributed two hits, and Jonny Flieder sealed the victory for Haverford in a thrilling Centennial Conference playoff game against Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday in Lancaster, securing a 3-2 win with his crucial game-winning single in the fifth inning.

The Diplomats cut the margin to a run with a two-run sixth, but Drew Doyle came in and tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to nail down the victory while securing his fourth save of the season.

Riley Grohowski collected the win, surrendering two runs over 5 1/3 frames.

Jack Wallis drove in the first run of the contest for the Fords with a sacrifice fly in the opening frame. Matt Dahl delivered an RBI-single in the second to expand the lead to 2-0.

Haverford will now face top-seeded Johns Hopkins in Baltimore on Thursday as the tournament enters a double elimination phase. The Fords were swept by the Blue Jays in a doubleheader earlier this season.
