With a second consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom championship freshly added to its resume, Arcadia hopes to make a deep run in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Knights earned a top seed and will host the Glenside Regional this weekend.
The club will face Susquehanna on Friday at 10 a.m. Rowan and SUNY Brockport round out the four-team regional.
The appearance marks the fifth time in program history that Arcadia has participated in the NCAA Tournament.
The Knights (32-12) hosted a regional last season but fell in the final after dropping two straight games to Oswego State.
Eight players from the Knights earned All-MAC Freedom honors this season, including MAC Freedom Player of the Year Alex Madera. The Delran native hit .453 while posting a 1.149 OPS. He finished second on the club with 51 RBIs and stole 16 bases.
Sophomore Anthony Bruno also played a pivotal role in the offense, leading the club with six homers and 58 RBIs.
Senior right-hander Carson Denham leads the Knights on the bump, posting a 2.54 ERA over 71 innings (12 starts). Fellow senior Zach Steiger was fantastic in the MAC Tourney and limited opponents in conference play (seven starts) to a .196 batting average.
About Susquehanna (26-18)
Sitting one game from elimination in the Landmark Conference Tournament, the River Hawks beat Scranton twice to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. The River Hawks got those two victories in style, winning the first game 8-6 in extra innings before going to the wire in the second and decisive game, coming out on top and claiming the title with a walk-off 6-5 win.
Sophomore infielder Tony Rossi (Doylestown, Central Bucks East) led the River Hawks at the plate during the regular season, hitting .337 with ten homers, 44 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases.
About Rowan (30-13)
The Profs are ranked 24th in the D3baseball.com Top 25 and won the NJAC regular-season title. The program is making its 29th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and third consecutive. It is also the fifth berth in the nine seasons under head coach Mike Dickson. Last year, Rowan won the Annville (PA) Regional and advanced to the Willimantic (CT) Super Regional, where the Profs fell to eventual national champion Eastern Connecticut State.
Junior lefty Zach Grace is Rowan's ace, collecting 90 strikeouts over 66 1/3 innings. Sophomore Phil Sedalis leads the club at the plate, hitting .430 with six homers and 58 RBIs. Junior Dylan Maria is the biggest power threat, leading the team with 12 homers and 62 RBIs.
About SUNY Brockport (28-16)
The Golden Eagles beat Cortland to win the SUNYAC Title for the first time since 2010. The club had five players chosen for the All-Tournament Team, including Zach Eldred, who earned Most Valuable Player honors. The junior hit .402 on the season and led the club with six homers and 44 RBIs.
On the mound, grad student righty Adam Douglas is at the top of the rotation. He tossed a gem against Cortland in the SUNYAC Tournament and posted a 2.32 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP.
