Ryan Picollo delivered a walk-off single to give Saint Joseph's a 3-2 victory over Maine on Friday afternoon at Smithson Field.
Ryan Weingartner, who entered the afternoon as one of the hottest players in the region, hit a one-out single in the ninth and stole second base, putting himself in position to score later in the frame on Picollo's single.
Picollo finished the afternoon 2-for-4, while Ryan Cesarini paced the Saint Joseph's offense with three hits.
The Hawks carried a 2-1 lead into the ninth before Maine's Myle Sargent crushed a solo shot to even the contest.
Cole Stetzar secured the win for the Hawks, despite surrendering two runs on three hits over 1 1/3 innings.
Will McCausland was outstanding in the start, tossing seven shutout frames while whiffing six.
The two clubs resume their three-game set on Saturday.
