West Chester split a doubleheader with Tiffin on Sunday, dropping Game 1 after allowing 11 unanswered runs, including five runs in extras, in a 15-10 defeat at the Division II Baseball Challenge in Dinwiddie, Va.
The Rams carried a 10-4 lead into the sixth before the wheels fell off. Nick Noga struggled in relief, surrendering five runs while recording just one out. Joe Martino took the loss, surrendering five runs in the eighth.
Tiffin hit six homers in the contest.
Evan Profy finished with three hits in the loss.
The Rams were trailing in the nightcap heading into the final inning, but a crucial Tiffin error on a ball hit by Sean Szestowicki allowed two runs to score to give the Rams a 4-3 victory.
Ryan DeHaven surrendered three runs on eight hits over six innings to record the win for the Rams. Gabe Rappa collected two strikeouts in the final frame to record the save.
Joe Kaleck led the offense with two hits and a stolen base.
West Chester returns to action on Friday with a contest against D'Youville.
