Philadelphia Baseball Review College Baseball Preview
There is plenty of top-tier talent across the Philadelphia region at the D-III level. The players included on this All-Philly Region D-III Preseason Roster are worthy of your attention and should be viewed as the best the region has to offer as the college season begins.

As with any team of this type, there were some worthy names that didn't make the cut. 

C: Josh Crowding, SR, Immaculata 
Hit .365 last year for the Mighty Macs while collecting 41 RBIs. Is a career .385 hitter with a 605 slugging percentage. 

C: Justin Fogel, JR, Penn State Abington 
Hit .484 last year to go along with a .846 slugging percentage. Hit seven dingers and collected 24 RBIs. Posted a .990 fielding percentage 

INF: Alex Madera, SR, Arcadia 
MAC Freedom Player of the Year in 2022 and started all 42 games for the Knights and posted a .464 batting average, 83 hits, 62 runs scored, nine doubles, four triples, 31 RBI's, 38 walks, and 38 stolen bases. 

INF: Sam Spadea, SR, Cairn 
Named All-CSAC Second Team last year after finishing fifth in the conference with a .385 batting average. Also hit four homers to go along with 47 RBIs. 

INF: Chase Swain, SO, PSU Abington 
Hit .407 with nine homers and 45 RBIs last season. Stole 18 bases and was named United East Rookie of the Year. 

INF: Bryce Fremgen, GR, Widener 
Hit .333 with four homers and 37 RBIs last year. Collected 23 walks against just 18 strikeouts. 

INF: Justin Massielo, SR, Arcadia 
Hit .383 with 70 hits, 42 runs scored, 16 doubles, four triples, one home run, 46 RBI's, 20 walks, 11 hit-by-pitches, and 12 stolen bases. Was named to First Team All-MAC Freedom roster last year. 

INF/P: Pat Toal, JR, Cabrini 
Hit .371 while slugging .536 last season for the Cavs. Also dominated on the mound, holding opponents to a .169 batting average over seven appearances. 

INF: Solomon Griffith, SR, Ursinus 
He tallied team-leading numbers with a .357 batting average, 51 total hits, 26 runs scored, and two triples. Griffith also paced the team with a .510 slugging percentage and stole a team-high 15 bases 

OF: Austin Burgess, SR, Swarthmore 
Played in 41 games and finished the season with a .351 batting average, which ranked third on the Garnet. He led Swarthmore in doubles (18), RBIs (51), slugging % (.656) and home runs with eight.

OF: Anthony Boccio SR, Widener 
Led the Pride at the plate in 2022 with a .409 batting average. Was third on the team with 35 RBIs and stole 15 bags. 

OF: Zack Brook, SR, Cabrini 
Led the AEC with 11 homers last season while ranking fourth with 45 RBIs. He also stole seven bases and posted a .605 slugging percentage. 

DH: Justin Costanzo, SR, Widener 
Led the Pride with 14 homers and 45 RBIs last season while hitting .385. Was named MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year. 

SP: Jason Hughes, JR, Immaculata 
Posted a 1.78 ERA over 11 appearances, including ten starts last season. Whiffed 70 hitters over 65 2/3 innings and finished 7-1. 

SP: Casey Murphy, SR, Ursinus 
He went 4-4 in his 10 starts on the season and struck out 58 batters in 60.2 innings to earn All-Centennial Conference first team honors. Posted a conference-best 2.97 ERA. 

SP: Hunter Sibley, SR, Arcadia 
Named Second Team All-MAC Freedom in 2022 while appearing in 14 games with 13 starts, going 8-2 with a 3.97 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 77 innings. 

SP: Matteo Sollecito, SR, Swarthmore 
The right-hander posted a 4-1 record last year with a 4.01 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings of work. 

SP: Hunter Curley, JR, Arcadia 
Went 4-3 on the mound with a 3.92 ERA, 43 strikeouts, and three complete games. Also hit .308 with 13 doubles, three homers, and 20 RBIs when not on the mound. Earned First Team All-MAC Freedom honors. 

SP: Nick Fossile, SR, Arcadia 
Appeared in 13 games last year with 11 starts while posting a 6-1 record. Collected 46 strikeouts across 61.1/3 innings while posting a 3.23 ERA.
