With the college baseball season upon us, here's a look at some of the top talent in the Philadelphia region at the Division II level.
Hit seven homers while slugging .681 last year. Drove in 27 runs in just 26 games.
INF: Alex Gonzalez, JR, Jefferson
Hit .306 last season while scoring 49 runs and swiping 12 bases. Named All-CACC First Team honoree.
INF: Sean Szestowicki, JR, West Chester
Hit .259 for the Rams over 43 games last season. Collected ten doubles, one triple, and four homers while piecing together nine multi-hit games.
INF: Chris McLean, JR, Jefferson
Played in 47 games last year while hitting .364 with 11 dingers. Posted a 1.142 OPS and was an All-CACC Second Team honoree.
INF: Nate O'Donnell, SR, Chestnut Hill
Hit .292 last season while driving in 18 runs. Stole seven bases and struck out just 16 times over 113 at-bats.
OF: Luke Cantwell, SR, West Chester
Hit .305 last season while leading the Rams with 12 homers. He also drove in 52 runs and had 15 multiple hit games.
OF: R.J. Huth, JR, Chestnut Hill
Hit .250 last year for the Griffins while stealing 18 bases. Posted a .448 on-base percentage.
OF: Joe Kaleck, JR, West Chester
Played multiple positions last season while stealing 28 bases and hitting .258. Started all 51 games last year for the Rams.
SP: Joe Sperone, JR, West Chester
Finished with an 8-2 record last year with a 3.62 ERA. Tossed two complete games over 12 starts.
SP: Samuel Bass, JR, Jefferson
Collected 60 strikeouts over 39 2/3 innings last year while holding opponents to a .227 batting average. Posted a 4.99 ERA over nine starts.
RP: Kyle Lazer, SO, West Chester
Whiffed 45 hitters over 45 innings last season while posting a 2.80 ERA. Collected five saves while posting a 1.16 WHIP.
