Didi to sit out for Phillies
The Phillies placed eight members of the team, including three players and five coaches, in COVID protocol on Monday according to manager Joe Girardi.

Jose Alvarado, Ronald Torreyes, and Matt Moore have each been placed on the COVID injured list. Girardi wasn't at liberty to speak specifics, so he couldn't say if any of the three had tested positive.

Added to the roster today were pitchers Damon Jones and Christopher Sanchez, along with infielder Nick Maton. Maton will get the start tonight at shortstop, making his career debut, as Didi Gregorius is nursing a sore throwing elbow.

It's unclear at this point if others will enter COVID protocol, though Girardi admitted there will be more testing over the coming days.

In addition to the three players, five coaches have also been placed in COVID protocol, including first base coach Paco Figueroa and coaching assistant Bobby Meacham.

As of now, tonight's game against the Giants is scheduled to move forward.

"Could that change? Yes that could change," Girardi said.
