La Salle Connor Hinchliffe and Villanova Nick Lorusso take home honors
The Philadelphia Baseball Review released its Division-I Freshman Player of the Week and Reliever of the Week awards on Tuesday for the period ending February 24.

Connor Hinchliffe of La Salle and Nick Lorusso of Villanova each received the honors.

Hinchliffe collected two saves for the Explorers in their weekend series against Rider, limiting the Broncs to one hit. The senior right-hander struck out four and walked just one. He now has four saves on the season, tying him with Florida's Nolan Crisp for the national D-I lead.

As for Lorusso, the freshman infielder went 4-for-9 (.444) over the weekend with a homer, a double, four walks, and four RBIs for the Wildcats in their three-game set with Virginia.

On Monday, the Philadelphia Baseball Review also honored Lorusso as D-I Hitter of the Week while naming La Salle's Jackson Ray as D-I Pitcher of the Week.

Ray tossed seven scoreless innings on Saturday for the Explorers in a 3-0 win, scattering five hits while collecting seven strikeouts.
