Phillies sign Andrew McCutchen
The Phillies have been looking to improve their outfield, and it appears they've added a former All-Star to the mix. According to multiple sources, the club has inked free agent Andrew McCutchen to a three-year deal pending a physical. A source close to The Review says the deal is worth $50 million.
McCutchen, 32, is a five-time All-Star and hit .255 last season while splitting time with the Giants and the Yankees.

He's a durable outfielder and likely will slide into right, though he also can play center. A career .287 hitter, he's hit at least 20 homers over each the last eight seasons and has a career OPS+ of 134.

According to sources, this move does not preclude the Phillies from still going after another top-flight outfielder, namely Bryce Harper.
