The deal is worth $2.5 million but includes incentives that could increase the worth to $3.75 million.
Rodriguez, 36, had an abysmal season with the Tigers in 2017, struggling to the tune of a 7.82 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 28 appearances. He was released by Detroit in June and then signed a Minor League deal with the Nationals but was released in early July.
The right-hander is fourth on the all-time saves list with 437. He saved 44 games for the Tigers in 2016 and most recently was an All-Star in 2015 while with Milwaukee.
"I still have plenty left," Rodriguez recently told Heyman in an interview. "I'm physically way better than I was last year. I'm ready. If I didn't have it, I'd say it. I'm a straight shooter, my own worst critic."
