Philadelphia aims to extend win streak to six as Phillies visit Angels
The Philadelphia Phillies are riding a five-game winning streak and travel to Anaheim to open a three-game set with the Angels on Tuesday.

Aaron Nola, who has been stellar as of late, gets the nod for the Phillies. He's posted a 3.17 ERA over 16 starts for the and picked up his eighth win against the Astros on Wednesday after striking out 10 over six scoreless innings.

“I can’t say enough about him, he’s been outstanding,” Phils manager Pete Mackanin said of Nola last week. “We’re all really happy about the progress he’s made. He’s turned the corner, I think. I don’t have enough accolades for him.”

Offensively, Odubel Herrera is leading the charge for the Phillies. He's hit .383 since July 3 with a 1.129 OPS, seven doubles and six homers. Cesar Hernandez is also hitting extremely well, hitting .333 with a .422 on-base percentage in 13 contests since returning from the DL.

The Angels counter Nola with veteran Ricky Nolasco who for his career - spanning 20 starts - is 8-7 with a 3.83 ERA against the Phillies, though he's pitched against Philadelphia just once since 2014.

Mike Trout helms the Angels' offense, hitting .315/.422/.500 with three homers and nine RBIs in 14 games since returning from the disabled list with a thumb injury.

The series marks just the fourth time the Phillies and Angels have met and the first since 2014.
