PBR - A pair of throwing errors allowed Villanova the opportunity to push across four runs in the 10th inning on Tuesday afternoon to defeat Saint Joseph's 10-7 at Maguire Campus Field.

Both errors were made by pitcher Kevin Burum on bunt plays. Burum tossed two innings, allowing four runs, none earned, and was saddled with the loss.

An anemic Hawks' offense exploded for 15 hits on the day with Greg Kumpel, Kevin Kratochwill and Stefan Kancylarz combining for 11 of those hits.

Matt Fleishman hit a solo shot for the Wildcats while Tyler Sciacca and Connor Jones each collected three hits.

Sciacca opened the 10th with a bunt attempt and ultimately reached second on Burum's error. Paul Rambaud followed with a bunt attempt of his own and he too reached second on a throwing error, allowing Sciacca to score. Three straight singles scored two more runs to ultimately give the Wildcats the win.

Trailing  6-5 in the eighth, Kancylarz's RBI-single scored Lansing Veeder who reached earlier in the frame on a single and a stolen base.

The win improved Villanova's record to 10-6 on the season and dropped Saint Joseph's to 3-13.
