Odubel Herrera suspended for domestic violence
Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera was arrested Monday night after a report of domestic violence occurred at the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City, the Atlantic City police department confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

Herrera, 27, was charged with simple assault and released on a summons with a future court date.

The casino declined to comment on the matter.

According to the police report, the victim is a 20-year-old woman from Philadelphia. Officers arrived on scene to find the victim speaking with casino security. She had visible signs of injury to her arms and neck inflicted during a dispute with Herrera, according to police.

Under MLB's domestic violence policy, those accused of domestic violence are subject to an internal investigation.

Herrera was placed on leave on Tuesday afternoon, pursuant to Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy, according to a source.
