In addition to creating an absolute mess outside, the winter storm slamming our area has caused significant changes to the NCAA opening weekend schedule.

Friday's slate has been completely wiped away with Temple, La Salle, Saint Joseph's, and Villanova all having contests either postponed or cancelled.

Here's what we know right now about the rest of the weekend ...

Temple: Friday's contest against North Carolina A&T is cancelled and will not be made up.  The two clubs are scheduled to play in Raleigh on Saturday and Sunday with both games scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

La Salle: Friday's game against Campbell is cancelled. As of now, the two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday with tentative start times of 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Saint Joseph's: The Hawks were supposed to spend the weekend with several other teams at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Travel issues and the weather, however, have forced the cancellation of the entire weekend.  Saint Joseph's is now scheduled to open their season next Friday against Kentucky.

Villanova: Friday's contest against Charleston Southern is postponed and the two clubs are now scheduled for a doubleheader on Saturday with the first game set to begin at 1 p.m. The series will conclude on Sunday.
