Philly Bandits Red wasted little time taking control Wednesday in Doylestown, using a four-run second inning and pressure on the bases to beat the Philly Mummers, 10-5.

The Bandits opened the scoring in the first when Jacob Greer singled home a run, but the Mummers answered in the bottom half. Caden Vacca delivered an RBI single, and Ryan Frey followed with a sacrifice fly to give the Mummers a 2-1 lead.

That advantage did not last long.

The Bandits surged back in front in the second, when Jimmy Casey singled in two runs before an error and a dropped third strike helped two more runs come across. By the time the inning ended, Bandits Red had turned a one-run deficit into a 5-2 lead.

They kept building from there. An error, a Ryan Price triple and another defensive miscue helped the Bandits extend the lead in the third, giving them enough separation to hold off the Mummers the rest of the way.

Sean Heissler stabilized the game out of the bullpen for Bandits Red, working 4 2/3 innings in relief. He allowed four hits and three runs, only one earned, while striking out three and walking two. Andrew Unrath started for the Bandits and allowed two runs on two hits over one-third of an inning.

Greer and Eddie Rosado each had two hits for Bandits Red, while Price and Rosado each drove in two runs. Dax Caplan stole two bases, and the Bandits stole six bases overall.

While Bandits Red handled its matchup with the Mummers, Bandits Black found itself on the other side of a tight, low-scoring game against Rake.

Both teams received strong pitching performances, but Rake did just enough late to edge Bandits Black, 3-2.

Bandits Black struck first in the second inning when Finn Kopp doubled home a run. The lead held until the fourth, when Rake tied the game with help from a Luke Sedor walk and a double play that brought home another run.

Bam McNab started for Bandits Black and gave his team four strong innings. He allowed two hits and two runs, both unearned, while striking out two and walking five. Chase Canney followed and took the loss, allowing one run on four hits over two innings. He struck out one and did not issue a walk.

Rake broke through in the sixth with a run-scoring single, taking the lead for good.

Trevor Morris started for Rake and allowed one unearned run on one hit over 2 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked one.

Canney and Kopp each drove in a run for Bandits Black, while Will Henderson went 2-for-3 to lead the club in hits. Bandits Black also stole six bases.

Rake spread its offense throughout the lineup, with Bobby Hansen, Pat Kilgus, Connor Dunn, Sedor, Robert Del Buono Jr. and Anthony Jakeman each collecting one hit. Hansen drove in a run, while Hansen and Dunn each stole multiple bases. Rake finished with seven stolen bases.
