Philly Select League - Philadelphia Baseball Review
Philly Bandits Red and Philly Bandits Black each came away from Monday with something to show for it, though in different ways.

Bandits Red played Total Skills Tropics to a 7-7 tie in an eight-inning game, while Bandits Black held off the Fightin Quakers, 3-2, after a three-run fifth inning proved to be the difference.

In the opener, Total Skills struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first. Ginetti drove in Spinks with an RBI single, and Lydon followed with a sacrifice fly that scored Ginetti to make it 2-0.

Bandits Red answered in the third, tying the game with help from a wild pitch and an error. Ryan Price scored on the wild pitch, and Pat White came home when Eddie Rosado reached on an error. The Bandits then moved ahead in the fourth when Brian Klumpp doubled to center field to score Sean Burke.

The lead did not last. Total Skills scored three times in the bottom of the fourth, using a Bandits error and a Daniel Giordano RBI single to take a 5-3 advantage.

Bandits Red responded again in the sixth. Jay Slater was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, bringing in Burke, and Jimmy Casey followed with a groundout that scored Klumpp to tie the game at 5-5.

The Tropics regained the lead in the bottom half on Giordano’s RBI single, but Burke tied the game again in the seventh with a single to center that scored Cubby Bailey. In the eighth, Klumpp scored on an error to put the Bandits ahead, 7-6. Total Skills answered one final time when Berretta lifted a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Spinks and tying the game at 7-7.

In other action, the Fightin Quakers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Braeden Black singled to center field, scoring Nuge Willard, who had stolen second earlier in the at-bat.

Bandits Black broke through in the fifth. Owen McLean scored on a wild pitch, and Will Henderson and Gavin Grasso each moved up on the same play. Chase Canney then delivered the biggest swing of the game, lining a single to center field to score Grasso and Henderson and give the Bandits a 3-1 lead.

The Quakers made it a one-run game in the sixth after Stephen Furia stole second and scored on Tyler Tucker’s single to center. But Bandits Black kept the tying run from coming across, preserving the 3-2 win.
