Sean Burke had a night to remember, driving in five runs with three hits to propel the Philly Bandits to a 14-6 victory over the Philly Mummers on Monday at Holy Ghost Prep.

Burke, an Archbishop Wood graduate entering his second season at Widener, showcased his clutch hitting. He delivered a two-run single in the fifth inning, a two-run triple in the fourth, and an RBI single in the second, demonstrating why he is one of the key offensive players for the Bandits.

The Mummers, looking to rebound from a slow start to the season, initially took a 4-0 lead in the second inning. However, the Bandits responded with a seven-run outburst, seizing control of the game and never looking back.

Owen Wheeler earned the win, allowing four runs (three earned) over four innings. Wheeler's ability to settle down after a rocky start provided the stability the Bandits needed.

For the Mummers, Jordan Czerniak, Henry Wetzel, and Ty Pan each collected two hits in the loss, but their efforts were not enough to overcome the Bandits' offensive surge.

With the victory, the Bandits improved to 5-2-1 on the season, while the Mummers dropped to 4-6. The two teams will continue their three-game series on Tuesday at Holy Ghost Prep.

Jenkinson Dominates in Ghost's Win Over Fightin' Quakers

In other PSCBL action, Alex Jenkinson (Haverford/Central Bucks West) pitched five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out six to lead the Bucks County Ghost to a 5-0 win over the Philly Fightin' Quakers at Gwynedd Mercy University.

Jenkinson, known for his precision and command, stifled the Quakers' offense, showcasing the talent that has made him a standout in the league.

Andrew Armstrong took the loss for the Fightin' Quakers, despite not allowing a hit over four innings. He surrendered one run, walking four. Armstrong's control issues ultimately cost him, as the Ghost capitalized on his walks.

Ghost scored runs on bases-loaded walks in the second and fifth innings, taking advantage of Armstrong's struggles. Ryan Brown added an RBI single in the seventh, followed by Nick Digiacamo's two-run single to extend the lead and secure the win.

The two teams will resume their three-game series on Tuesday at Gwynedd Mercy.
