The Philly Select Collegiate League kicks off its inaugural season tonight with two exciting matchups: Rake vs. Bucks County Ghost and Philly Mummers vs. Philly Fightin' Quakers. 
 
Established in 2023, the Philly Select Collegiate League aims to provide a competitive platform for rising high school seniors and current college players. 
 
With five teams, the league promises to be a focal point for local baseball enthusiasts and a breeding ground for young talent. 
 
Over 100 players from more than three dozen local colleges and high schools comprise the rosters of the five teams: Bucks County Ghost, Philly Mummers, Philly Fightin' Quakers, Philly Bandits, and Rake Baseball. 
 
This diverse pool of talent underscores the league's commitment to fostering player development and showcasing the region's baseball prowess. 
 
Tonight’s games mark the beginning of what is expected to be a thrilling season that runs through mid-July. The matchups will set the stage for a summer of high-caliber baseball, providing an excellent opportunity for players to develop their skills and gain exposure. 
 
"We aim to provide quality baseball around the region, with focus on the development and growth of the players and the game," said Andrew Lihotz, Regional Manager at EL1 sports and coordinator of the Philly Select Baseball League.
