Cole Zaffiro of Penn
As expected, Penn is piecing together another outstanding season. The club took two of three over the weekend from Yale and now sits in a tie with Columbia for the top spot in the Ivy League. Those two clubs will face each other at Meiklejohn Stadium for a three-game series to conclude the Ivy League regular season starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 13.

Cole Zaffiro tossed a gem for the Quakers on Saturday, hurling 6 1/3 scoreless frames while collecting 10 strikeouts en route to a 1-0 Penn victory. The junior right-hander is the Philadelphia Baseball Review D-I Pitcher of the Week.

Zaffiro's 2.31 ERA is the best in the Ivy League, but what's even better is his 1.19 ERA over five Ivy League starts.

Zaffiro, along with fellow starters Ryan Dromboski and Owen Coady, have a combined ERA of 2.36 and have limited opponents to a sub .190 batting average.

All three hurlers have been honored with weekly accolades at some point this season by the Philadelphia Baseball Review.

Penn travels to Rider for a non-conference contest on Wednesday before heading to Cornell for a weekend series.
