SAN DIEGO -- The Phillies signed left-handed reliever Matt Strahm on Tuesday to a two-year deal worth $15 million, according to multiple sources.
Strahm made 50 appearances last season with the Red Sox, posting a 3.83 ERA with 52 strikeouts over 44 2/3 innings. He has a career 3.81 ERA over seven Major League seasons.
Strahm missed portions of 2020 and 2021 with San Diego because of patellar tendon surgery on his right knee.
The 31-year-old signed with Boston as a free agent last year and pitched exclusively out of the bullpen.
Strahm will presumably slot behind Jose Alvarado as the second lefty out of the Phillies' bullpen.
