Ryan McCarty
The Philadelphia area is rich with baseball talent, and there's always a large contingent of players across Minor League Baseball with ties to the Philadelphia region. The Philadelphia Baseball Review aims to spotlight some of this local talent every other week.

Here's a snapshot for mid-August.

Ryan McCarty (Penn State-Abington) has made quite the debut for Class-A Dunedin (Toronto), going 10-for-29 over his first eight professional games with a homer and five RBIs.

Chris Rotondo (Villanova) is also putting together a solid first month as a professional, hitting .295 over his 14 games with Class-A Palm Beach (Saint Louis). He's also stolen two bags and homered.

Tatem Levins (Langhorne) is hitting .538 while posting a 1.222 OPS through his first six games with the ACL Mariners (Seattle).

Joe Miller (Penn) has pitched well for Class-A Lakeland (Detroit), surrendering two runs over five innings while scattering three hits. He's whiffed four and has a 0.60 WHIP.

Chris Alleyne (Philadelphia, PA) is hitting .250 through 16 games with a homer and six RBIs for the Class-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Los Angeles Dodgers).

Gordon Graceffo (Villanova) had a rough outing on Aug. 19, but the right-hander is still piecing together a solid year. He's 8-6 through 22 starts with Double-A Springfield (Saint Louis) while posting a 3.22 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP.
