The Philadelphia Baseball Review celebrates the best players following each college baseball season. The players named below have been named as members of our All-Philly Division I Team for the 2022 season.
C: Andrew Cossetti, Saint Joseph's - He hit a career-best .327 while also leading the Hawks with a .714 slugging percentage. Set new single-season program records for home runs (19) and runs batted in (65), while his 61 runs scored gave him a share of the program's single-season mark in that category alongside teammate Nate Thomas. Named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's District 1 Player of the Year.
INF: Ben Miller, Penn - Drove in 42 runs while hitting .330. He also hit seven homers and posted a .957 OPS.
INF: Wyatt Hensler, Penn - Led the Quakers' offense with a .383 batting average along with 14 homers and 53 RBIs. Posted a 1.184 OPS.
INF: Joey Castellanos. Villanova - Finished second on the Wildcats with a .323 batting average while collecting 33 RBIs.
INF: Nate Thomas, Saint Joseph's - Finished second on the club with 18 homers while collecting 58 RBIs.
OF: Brendan Hueth, Saint Joseph's - Collected 54 RBIs while hitting .374 with five homers.
OF: Brett Callahan, Saint Joseph's - Led the Hawks with a .383 batting average. Swiped 23 bases to go along with eight homers and s 1.069 OPS.
OF: Chris Rotondo. Villanova - Led the Wildcats in nearly all offensive categories; finished with a .359 batting average, 1.131 OPS, 12 homers, and 37 RBIs.
SP: Kevin Eaise, Penn - Named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Year. He whiffed 79 over 67 innings. He finished 7-1 over 13 starts.
SP: Joe Miller, Penn - Collected 91 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .234 batting average. Posted a 3.83 ERA to go along with a 1.35 WHIP.
RP: Owen Coady, Penn - Posted a 2.80 ERA on the year over 54 2/3 innings. Collected 74 strikeouts while posting a 1.13 WHIP.
