Alec Bohm promoted to Double-A Reading
Alec Bohm appears to be on the fast track to Philadelphia. The Phillies' first-round pick in 2018 was promoted on Thursday to Double-A Reading. It's the second promotion for the third baseman in a little more than two months.

The 6-for-5, 225-pounder is rated the organization's top prospect by MLB Pipeline. He hit .367 with three homers in 22 games for Single-A Lakewood before being promoted to Clearwater where he continued to hit well, slashing .329/.395/.506. Combined, he's hitting .342 on the year with seven homers and 38 RBIs.

Bohm has 25 multi-hit games this year and will make his debut with Reading on Friday. It's not out of the question, assuming he performs at a similar level at Double-A, that he sees some action at Triple-A and potentially with the Phillies come September.

At the very least, it appears Bohm is expected to be the Phillies' starting third baseman come next season.
