Jackson Ray tosses 6-plus scoreless for La Salle
Pitching has been a weak point for La Salle through the first month of the season, but Jackson Ray flipped the script on Sunday.

The sophomore picked up his first win of the season after giving up just two hits and striking out five over 6 2/3 scoreless innings as the Explorers secured a 2-0 home victory over Sacred Heart on Sunday at Hank DeVincent Field.

Ben Faso drove in the first run of the game in the sixth inning with an RBI-single to give the Explorers a 1-0 advantage. Brian Tagoe worked a walk, stole second and eventually scored on a wild pitch to add an insurance run.

Faso finished the afternoon 3-for-3 with a double. Through 18 games this season he leads the club in batting average (.378), total bases (32), and on-base percentage (.439)

The Explorers next travel to West Virginia for a Tuesday contest against the Mountaineers.
