Fernando Abad appears to have a deal in place with Philadelphia
Reports surfaced early Saturday morning indicating the Phillies and left-handed pitcher Fernando Abad have a deal in place that includes an invite to spring training.

The club has not confirmed.

Per MLB Network's Jon Heyman, Abad could make $3.1 million off the deal if he were to make the opening day roster.

Abad, 32, pitched in 48 games last season with Boston and finished the year with a 3.30 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. He has a 3.65 career ERA and has an ERA+ of 111.

This signing puts additional pressure on lefties already on the roster such as Hoby Milner and Adam Morgan as there's a now a logjam of options.

The lefty made $2 million last year with the Red Sox.
