Jeremy Hellickson scratched from Friday's series opener

Jeremy Hellickson has been scratched from tonight's scheduled start as the Philadelphia Phillies are set to open a four-game set with the Atlanta Braves.

Nothing has been formally announced regarding a trade, but the weather forecast is calling for rains that potentially could cause a delay and cut Hellickson's start short.

Rather than take a chance, the Phillies are electing to go the safe route.

Jake Thompson will start in Hellickson's place for the Phillies.
