Tommy Joseph hit .347 with six home runs and 17 RBI for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Prior to tonight's series opener against Cincinnati the Phillies selected the contract of first baseman Tommy Joseph from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and optioned Darin Ruf.

In 27 games with the IronPigs this season, Joseph is hitting .347 with seven doubles, six home runs, and 17 RBI. He leads the International League in batting average and OPS (.981), and ranks second in slugging (.611).

Ruf was  hitting just .158 over 31 games while platooning at first base with Ryan Howard.

Tonight's contest kicks off a nine-game, 10-day homestand for the Phillies. The club spent 19 of the last 22 days on the road and secured a series win over Atlanta last night with a 7-4 win in 10 innings.

Jeremy Hellickson is on the mound tonight for the Phillies, looking to rebound from a no-decision last Saturday in Miami. The righty also hopes to improve on his stats at Citizens Bank Park - in two starts this season he's tossed just 7 1/3 innings and surrendered nine runs (11.05 ERA).

Dating back to last season, the Reds have won seven straight against the Phillies.

Lefty Brandon Finnegan leads the Reds staff with four quality starts and enters tonight with a 2-5 mark to go along with a 4.15 ERA.
