Pat Borders spent nearly 25 years as a professional ballplayer, so it's only natural for him to have a desire to become involved in managing.

"I just hope I can bring the energy and fun that I had when I played the game to these young players in the system," Borders told milb.com.

The' addition of Borders highlighted Tuesday's announcement of the Phillies' developmental staff for 2015. A former World Series MVP and a two-time World Series winner, he'll manage short-season single-A Williamsport.

Dave Brundage and Dusty Wathan will return next season as managers of triple-A Lehigh Valley and double-A Reading, respectively. Greg Legg and Shawn Williams were promoted; Legg to single-A Clearwater and Williams to single-A Lakewood.

The entire staff under Legg in Clearwater is new; Nelson Prada, who managed the team last year, was reassigned to coaching duties in Lakewood.

The Phillies' farm system combined last season for the worst winning percentage in baseball (.439).
