The John Mayberry Jr. era in Philadelphia has come to a close.

The Phillies traded the 30-year-old outfielder on Sunday to Toronto in exchange for minor league infielder Gustavo Pierre.

Mayberry hit. 213 with six home runs and 21 RBIs in 63 games for the Phillies this season. He'd been on the disabled list since July 21 because of inflammation in his left wrist, and was expected to be activated Monday.

Over six seasons in Philadelphia Mayberry hit .242 with 52 homers and 169 RBIs.

Pierre, 22, hit a combined .260 with eight homers and 43 RBIs this season at Class A and Double-A. Over his six year minor league career he's a .247 hitter with a .282 on-base percentage.
