After not being talked about or heard from since last summer, Charlie Manuel is finally in the news once again after agreeing to accept an undisclosed front-office job with the Phillies.

According to Brian Startare of 97.5 The Fanatic, Manuel is willing to again work with the Phillies in a management job likely similar to the one he had in 2003 prior to becoming the Phillies' manager.

Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com reports that Manuel will be the senior adviser to Ruben Amaro.

The scope of that job is still uncertain to the public, but in a statement Ruben Amaro made before Christmas, he said that Manuel could be a "hitting guru" or do some scouting for the organization. These are two aspects of baseball that Manuel excels at.
