Darin Ruf went 2-4 and collected three RBI on Thursday, but that was not enough to match the Twins' ten runs.

Michael Young and Domonic Brown each collected two hits.

Cliff Lee gave up two earned runs, including surrendering two home runs, and four hits, while striking out five in 3 2/3 innings.

On the Mound:  Zach Miner struggled , giving up five runs, four of them earned, in 1/3 of an inning ...  Raul Valdes tossed 1 1/3 innings while giving up two earned runs ... and Jeremy Horst threw 1 1/3 innings and surrendered one earned run.

At the Plate:  Chase Utley was hitless in three at bats ...  Erik Kratz went 2-4 while driving in a run ... and Freddy Galvis tripled and scored a run.

Up Next:  The Phillies travel to Port Charlotte to play the Tampa Bay Rays.  Ryan Howard will not make the trip.  Kyle Kendrick gets the nod on Friday.
