Joa and Hughes named D-II Players of the Week
The Philadelphia Baseball Review released its Division-II College Player of the Week awards on Monday for the period ending April 28.

Jefferson junior outfielder Richard Joa was named the Philadelphia Baseball Review's Hitter of the Week, while Chestnut Hill sophomore left-hander Thomas Hughes has been named the Philadelphia Baseball Review's Pitcher of the Week.

Joa finished the week 9-for-18 (.500) with a homer, a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. He's hitting .360 on the year with three homers.

As for Hughes, he tossed a seven-inning complete game shutout for the Griffins against Dominican on Saturday. He surrendered just two hits and struck out five.

The Philadelphia Baseball Review names winners each Monday throughout the college season.
