Austin Constantini collected a hit and a save for La Salle on Saturday
La Salle captured its first win of the season on Saturday, holding off Presbyterian in the first game of a doubleheader at the Presbyterian College Baseball Complex in Clinton, S.C. The Explorers hung on for a 5-4 victory in game one before dropping a 13-4 decision in game two.

GAME 1 | La Salle 5, Presbyterian 4
The Explorers jumped ahead to a 5-0 lead, but some defensive miscues late in the contest allowed the Blue Hose to rally back before Austin Constantini shut the door with a clean ninth inning.

Ryan Guckin delivered a two-run double in the third and Connor Hinchliffe gave the Explorers some insurance in the sixth inning, driving home junior Brian Tagoe on an RBI single to center.

Greg Paprocki started the contest for the Explorers, marking his first appearance since 2016. He tossed four shutout innings, surrendering one hit. He fanned three.

GAME 2 | Presbyterian 13, La Salle 4
Starter Jackon Ray failed to get out of the opening frame, surrendering seven runs after facing just 10 batters.

Ben Faso finished 4-for-5 in the losing effort for the Explorers. Connor Hinchliffe chipped in with a solo blast in the second inning.

Michael Jenkins struck out seven over 3 2/3 innings in relief but also surrendered two runs on five hits and a pair of walks.

The two clubs conclude their four-game set on Sunday.

Schedule Change
Rain forced Villanova and Norfolk St. to postpone Saturday's scheduled contest. It'll be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday.
