Philadelphia Phillies welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates for four-game set
The Philadelphia Phillies welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates to Citizens Bank Park for a four-game set beginning tonight.

The Phillies dropped two-of-three in New York over the weekend to the Mets, falling 26 games below .500. The Pirates, meanwhile, come to Philadelphia having dropped three straight after being swept at home by the San Francisco Giants.

Aaron Nola will be on the mound for the Phillies in the series opener, aiming to stay hot. He's allowed just three runs on nine hits and 14⅓ innings with 17 strikeouts over his last two starts. He last faced the Pirates on May 21, allowing just one run on four hits over seven innings.

Opposing Nola is Ivan Nova. The righty has tossed at least six innings in 15 of his 16 outings this year and has notched 11 quality starts.

The Pirates find themselves on the verge of falling out of postseason contention, entering Monday six games off pace in the division and 10 games back in the Wild Card standings.
