Prospect Nick Williams will join the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday
Nick Williams will be in New York tonight when the Phillies open a three-game set with the Mets, according to multiple sources. The move coincides with the placement of Howie Kendrick on the disabled list with a hamstring injury.

Williams, 23, has hit .280 this season with a .328 on-base percentage, .511 slugging percentage, 15 home runs and 44 RBIs. MLB.com ranks him as the fourth best prospect in the Phillies' farm system. He's ran into some issues during his career demonstrating patience at the plate but possesses the tools to be an everyday player.

Williams was one of five minor-leaguers the Phillies acquired from the Texas Rangers in the 2015 Cole Hamels trade. He was drafted in the second round of the 2012 amateur draft.
