Kyle FarnsworthPHILADELPHIA - Free agent reliever Kyle Farnsworth is likely to sign a major league deal on Saturday, according to several reports that surfaced Friday night.

Farnsworth, 38, opted for free agency earlier this week after the Mets demoted him to Triple-A. In 19 appearances this season the righthander has a 3.18 ERA to go along with 10 strikeouts and a 1.41 WHIP.

The Phillies bullpen ranks 26th in the majors in ERA (4.68) and last in HR/9 (1.40).

Multiple sources have indicated the Phillies as a favorable landing spot for the 16-year veteran, but Texas and Cincinnati are also rumored to be in the mix.
