Penn duo takes home weekly honors
Each Monday during the regular season, the Philadelphia Baseball Review will honor a Division-I Player and Pitcher of the Week. These honors are not based entirely on statistics, but rather the value delivered by a player throughout the week.

For the week ending on March 8, the Philadelphia Baseball Review recognizes a duo from Penn in Eduardo Malinowski as Player of the Week and senior Christian Scafidi as Pitcher of the Week.

Malinowski finished the week 8-for-17 (.471) and drove in six runs for the Quakers in their weekend series with Florida International. He also tripled and homered. Through seven games this year he's hitting .467 with two homers and 10 RBIs.

Scafidi pieced together arguably the best start of his college career on Friday, tossing a complete game against FIU while surrendering just one unearned run on five hits. He didn't issue a walk and collected 11 strikeouts, matching a career-high. He's now tossed 15 scoreless innings this season over two starts.

Founded in 2006, the Philadelphia Baseball Review covers all aspects of baseball in the Philadelphia region.
