Phillies go to Aaron Nola in opener vs. Tigers
The Phillies are in Detroit tonight to open a quick two-game set with the Tigers at Comerica Park. Aaron Nola will toe the rubber for the Phils while the Tigers will counter with left-hander Matt Boyd.

Boyd is one of several hurlers that the Phillies have reportedly shown interest in acquiring before the trade deadline. He has a 4.13 ERA to go with a 1.13 WHIP in 120 innings this year while amassing 160 strikeouts. He would be a nice addition to the backend of the Phils' rotation, but the asking price appears to be quite high.

As for Nola, he's looking to bounce back after a no-decision his last time out against the Dodgers when he surrendered four runs, three via the long ball. On the year, he's 8-2 with a 3.77 ERA to go along with a 1.32 WHIP.

The Phillies took two of three over the Pirates in Pittsburgh this past weekend. The club sits 7 1/2 games behind the Braves in the NL East and a half-game behind the Cardinals for the final Wild Card playoff spot.

Roster Move
Reliever Fernando Salas cleared waivers and was outrighted by the Phillies to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. In three games this year with the Phils he's posted a 6.00 ERA. He's been removed from the 40-man roster twice over the past month.

Today's Lineup

Hoskins 3

Realmuto 2
Hernandez 4
