Phillies sign Danny Espinosa
With injuries hindering their infield depth, the Phillies announced Friday the club agreed to terms with veteran infielder Danny Espinosa. The 31-year-old will report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the coming days.

Espinosa has spent parts of eight seasons in the majors and is known more for versatility than his skill at the plate. He's a .221 career hitter and has spent time at the big league level with Washington, Los Angeles Angels, Seattle and Tampa Bay.

In another roster move, the Phillies recalled lefty reliever Zac Curtis from Lehigh Valley. The 25-year-old struggled in his previous stint with the big league club earlier this year, surrendering five hits and seven walks over just 5 1/3 innings.
