Phillies place Ben Lively on disabled list
The Phillies placed starting pitcher Ben Lively on the disabled list with a lower back strain, the club announced via Twitter on Friday.

Lively was hit around on Thursday by the Diamondbacks, surrendering seven runs while failing to get out of the third inning. He gave up a pair of homers and walked four in an 8-2 loss.

The right-hander has a 6.85 ERA on the season over five starts with a 1.86 WHIP.

Jake Thompson was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to replace Lively on the roster.
