Phillies sign Ryan Flaherty to Minor League deal
The Phillies and free-agent infielder Ryan Flaherty have agreed to terms, according to various reports. The deal comes with an invite to Spring Training and is worth a reported $1.9 million assuming he makes the big league roster.

The club has not yet confirmed.

Flaherty, 31, has a career .215/.284/.355 slash and is recognized more his defense than his ability at the plate. He spent the past six seasons with Baltimore but made just 43 plate appearances at the big league level last year thanks in part to a shoulder injury.

Flaherty will compete with veterans Adam Rosales and Pedro Florimon for a utility infield spot.
