Saint Joseph's baseball opens 2018 season with 13-game road trip
Saint Joseph's is slated to open the 2018 baseball season with a 13-game road swing before hosting Wagner in their home opener on March 16.

Head coach Fritz Hamburg unveiled the full schedule on Tuesday.

The Hawks open with a four-game series in Portland before then heading to East Carolina to participate in the 15th annual Keith LeClair Classic with contests against Missouri State and Pepperdine.

The club will then spend spring break at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida, where they will meet Florida International and Western Michigan for single games before playing a pair against both Georgetown and Notre Dame.

The Hawks begin conference play on March 23 at Smithson Field with a three-game series against Saint Louis. Saint Joseph’s will also host Davidson and Fordham before ending the regular season at home against Massachusetts.

Hamburg, now entering his 10th season as Hawks head coach, is the programs all-time leader in victories and has led Saint Joseph's to six consecutive 20-win seasons.

The Hawks dropped 10 straight contests to open the season last year but bounced back to finish just four games below .500 (21-25) with an even (12-12) conference record. At home the Hawks finished the year 14-5.

Defending Atlantic 10 champion Davidson visits Smithson Field for a three-game series beginning April 13.
