Pedro Guerrero joins Philadelphia Phillies coaching staff
Little by little, the Philadelphia Phillies and new manger Gabe Kapler are building a coaching staff. The newest addition came Wednesday as Pedro Guerrero was named assistant hitting coach.

Guerrero, 28, spent the last two years (2016-17) as a bench coach for the Ogden Raptors, the rookie-level affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. A former infielder, Guerrero played professionally for eight seasons (2006-13) in the Dodgers minor league system after being signed as an amateur free agent.

Guerrero hit .236 for his career over eight minor league seasons. As a coach last season he helped the Ogden Raptors to their first Pioneer League Championship in 24 years.
