Vince Velasquez collected 10 strikeouts over five innings on Tuesday night.
Vincent Velasquez was a victim of his own success on Tuesday night. The right-hander threw 103 pitches before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning. He was dominant, facing 20 batters and sitting down half on strikes.

The bullpen also performed well, notching seven strikeouts over four innings to combine for a 3-1 win over the Miami Marlins at Citizens Bank Park.

The 17 combined strikeouts tied the Phillies franchise record for a nine inning game. 

Tommy Joseph finished 3-for-4 in the winning effort while collecting his first major league home run,a solo shot off the left-field foul pole in the second.
